An effective Resistance Movement requires multiple tactics and organizations. Not everyone is able to protest but everyone is able to contribute. The RESIST Network offers suggestions for pro-democracy activities. There are additional resistance opportunities you may want to explore. Everyone can do something! Anything you do helps!!  

The Iguana is a progressive newsletter which promotes critical thinking and activism. It is published eight times annually and includes articles of local, state, and national interest. Each issue includes a community resource directory and a calendar. The paper is staffed by volunteers and offered without charge but it’s not free to produce, so please consider a subscription or donation. And remember to patronize their advertisers!

Gainesville Activism Hub is a website which provides a compilation of local organizations, volunteer opportunities, and resources that support community engagement. It  includes a  community calendar which is updated monthly so you can participate in protests and other resistance activities as your schedule allows. Take a look and you will no doubt be able to find something that interests you.

The What You Can Do Campaign delivers bimonthly action-focused messages. It provides  information and strategic actions to take about, local, state and national issues.  It makes it possible for every reader to speak out about fundamental American values. 5 Calls is a free App for your phone that  lists an array of state and national issues of concern. Click on an issue and you will find an explanation of the background, name(s) of legislator(s) you should call, with their phone number you can dial with a simple click. It also gives you a script. The App is updated regularly. Just go to your App Store and download.
